HISTORY
Founded in the 80's from stylist and trendscout Gabriele Bohlen Flip has always been the hotspot for the latest trends. The first tiny little store was so successful that a move to a bigger location was the next step. With four stores in a row Flip had an outstanding presentation of different fashion themes. Evening wear for party and nightlife, american sportswear, vintage specials like 501's, western highlights or biker gear like leather jackets and boots matched to a huge presentation of the latest trends from the US and Europe. This selection of clothes was something special not only for the retail customers, also stylists, photographers and film productions used the store as fundus and contributed their part to make the store so famous all over Germany. In 1996 Flip moved to a more frequent location. According to the fashion at that time the store design reflected the look and feeling of an underground club. You could see the influence of Patrica Fields New York store. By the time when chains like H&M started to sell famous clothing for less, the era of boutique style stores seemed to be over. Flip changed completeley to a more contemporary medium to high priced selection of clothing. To provide the matching home for that cool progressive fashion Flip moved across the street into a historic building which was newly restored. This was the chance to get the location customized according to the vision of creating a unique store. Reinhard Pascher as the partner of Gabriele Bohlen used his experience as an industrial designer together with all the impressions he got from the stores he likes so much in New York and LA and designed a highlight in store interiors.
